Izzi is an elite Australian distance runner, qualified Personal Trainer and studying to become a Psychologist. She holds personal bests of 32:13 for 10,000m and 15:26 for 5,000m.
Izzi represented Australia at the 2017 and 2019 World University Games in the 10,000m where she placed 7th and 6th respectively. In 2019, she had the #3 fastest time in Australia over the 10,000m for women. She is SA State Record Holder in the women’s 5,000m and 3,000m Steeplechase, and #2 all-time SA woman over the 10,000m.
Izzi spent 5 years competing as a student/athlete at The University of Washington (USA). There she was a multiple All-American and school record holder at the 5,000m(i) and 10,000m. She is commencing a combined Masters/PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2021 with research in the field of eating disorders.
Izzi’s career highlights include placing 3rd in the 10,000m at the 2019 NCAA Track & Field Championships and winning the 2019 PAC12 Conference Championship in the 10,000m. Recently, Izzi won the 2020 SA State Road 10km Championships in 32:37, the 2020 SA State Track 10,000m Championships in 32:13, and the 2020 SA State Track 5,000m Championships where she broke the previous state record held by Lisa Ondieki that was set 25 years ago in 1995 – the year Izzi was born.
